Dump Trailers For Home & Commercial Use

Written by ALCOM Trailers | May 17, 2024 1:03:26 PM

Trailers are great for hauling stuff from one place to another, but when you're moving materials that don't roll smoothly up and down a ramp -- like brush, leaves, gravel, or other fill -- what do you do? Wrestling a wheelbarrow up and down trailer ramps is a non-starter. It's time to hitch on your ALCOM aluminum dump trailer, if you have one! But if you don't, keep reading to learn more about why it's an awesome investment for homeowners and commercial users alike.

ALCOM builds two styles of all-aluminum dump trailer: residential and commercial.

Commercial Dump Trailers

As a business operator, it's easy to know when you need the capability of a dump truck. Rather than invest in a separate rig, get an ALCOM commercial grade aluminum dump trailer.

The commercial dump trailer series is available in four sizes (6'x10'; 6'x12'; 7'x14'; 7'x16'), each with tandem braked axles, 2" x 6" or 2" x 8" subframe tubing, a 12,500-lbs. coupler and two safety chains, and an 8,000-lbs. pedestal jack. It has a 12V hydraulic pump, front hoist system, and tongue mounted diamond plate hydraulic storage box. Keep materials contained with a canvas tarp system and rear swing-open bar style doors. Recessed LED marker lights are bright and durable.

The standard commercial dump body is 17" tall, with all aluminum construction included extruded aluminum decking and heavy-duty diamond plate fenders with corner steps. Need a taller trailer? Upgrade the dump body walls to 24", 36" or 48" tall. Upgrade to a three-way dump system or a ramp kit for versatility, and add D-ring tie-downs to the dump trailer deck for optional cargo securement.

Who are these aluminum dump trailers built for? Landscapers, contractors, farmers -- just to name a few. Move mulch, loam and other landscaping materials easily, or transport gravel, sand and rocks to and from jobsites. Whatever materials your business needs to haul, dump, and spread, ALCOM's all aluminum dump trailers are built for easy towing behind a pickup truck and years of reliable service.

Homeowner Dump Trailers

For weekend warriors cleaning up or overhauling the yard, check out ALCOM's homeowner series aluminum dump trailers. They're so light you can hitch them to your pickup truck, SUV, or side-by-side. Choose 4.5' x 8' or 5' x 8', with standard all aluminum construction and extruded decking.

For the lightest available model, choose the 4.5' x 8' homeowner dump trailer, which has a 12" tall dump body, removable front and rear panels that function as ramps, 2" x 4" subframe tubing, a 1500-lb. swivel jack, and a single braked axle. It also comes standard with a 12V hydraulic pump and power up/down tilt system, a tongue mounted storage box for the tilt controller, and undermount storage for the pump and battery.

For a trailer that bridges the gap between our most compact homeowner model and the smallest commercial options, step up to the 17" tall, 5' x 8' model. This trailer includes the same pump and tilt system with storage, plus a canvas tarp system, swing-open rear doors with aluminum hardware, a 6" filler board slot, and a 5,000-lb. center jack.

How to Choose

The primary difference between ALCOM homeowner and commercial grade dump trailers comes down to the size and payload of each trailer. The commercial utility models are larger, built with tandem axles, heavier payload, and extra features for material containment. The homeowner version is designed for lighter materials and smaller tow vehicles, and its payload is significantly lighter. Your best bet? Reach out to your local ALCOM dealer. They are ready to help you get started with the optimal aluminum dump trailer to move your materials.
